Why this is the console
Almost nobody who arrives at one of my guides has only one problem. The back is carrying the job. The drinking is carrying the marriage. Each guide looks at one part of a man's life. The console is where those parts join up, in one conversation, with one objective: a contented life.

About James
One morning I walked across grass, then sand, then through the dew. No plan and no headphones, just paying attention to what was under my feet. Cold and wet, then warm and shifting, then soft. My body noticed every change before my mind did.
For years people described me as robotic: no connection between my head and the rest of me. It was a pattern I chose to ignore. Now the simplest things are the ones I notice most.
Nobody taught us the basics. The families that seem to manage it carry invisible guardrails that nobody ever says out loud. I have spent fifty years, nearly twenty of them placing people in travel and hospitality, and six years sober, most of them in Tenerife, learning what mine are. This is my attempt to make them visible, so that you can set your own.
